Pierce Transfers – Pressing Instructions
✅ Follow These 4 Simple Steps for a Perfect Press Every Time
1. Position Your Design
Place your DTF transfer sheet onto your garment in the desired location. Ensure the surface is smooth—avoid large wrinkles under the press area.
📌 Pro Tip: Use heat-resistant tape for tricky placements (like hats) or when using a household iron to prevent unwanted movement.
2. Press
Apply heat at 320–350°F for cotton and 50/50 blends, or 280–300°F for polyester and synthetics. Press firmly for 10–15 seconds.
🔥 You can’t over-press a Pierce Transfer. Increased heat, time, or pressure won’t harm the transfer—but your garment might scorch. Start with our standard and adjust as needed.
👕 Protect your garment: Always use a Silicone Upper Platen Cover and Garment Protector Sheet.
3. Peel Warm
Our Pierce Peel technology lets you peel hot or warm.
Wait a few seconds, then peel in one smooth motion.
If parts of the design lift:
Increase heat (+15°F) and add pressure
⏱️ Still not bonding? Repeat in 15°F increments until fully applied. Pierce Transfers are built tough—re-pressing won’t hurt them.
4. Final Press = Final Touch
Unlike others, we don’t stop at one press. A final press is essential.

Proper Storage for DTF Transfers
At Pierce Transfers, we care about the longevity and performance of every transfer you receive. To keep your DTF transfers in peak condition, follow these expert-backed storage guidelines:
🧊 Optimal Storage Conditions
- Store transfers at room temperature or slightly cooler. Avoid exposure to high heat, which can soften the adhesive and cause transfers to stick together.
- Keep humidity below 50%. Excess moisture can lead to bubbling, peeling, or premature breakdown of the adhesive layer.
- Always store away from direct sunlight. Even moderate light exposure can activate heat-sensitive adhesives and reduce transfer quality.
- Ensure a clean, dust-free area for storage. Dust particles can compromise adhesive strength and interfere with a clean press.
📦 Recommended Storage Techniques
- Use ziplock bags, plastic tubs, or sealed folders to protect transfers from moisture, dust, and airborne particles.
- Always lay transfers flat. Avoid bending, curling, or leaning against vertical surfaces.
- Limit stacks to no more than 50–100 sheets. Over-stacking can cause pressure damage or lead to sticking.
- For stacked sheets, place a clean slip sheet (paper or film) between each transfer to prevent sticking or static cling.
📅 Shelf Life of DTF Transfers
Under ideal storage conditions, your Pierce Transfers can last well over a year. However, for optimal press quality, we recommend using:
- 3–12 months: For long-term stored transfers
- 30 days: If stored in high-traffic or uncontrolled environments
💡 Pro Tips for Organized Storage
- Store full gang rolls in sealed cylindrical bags. Secure them with twist ties or clamps to prevent air exposure and roll deformation.
- Use labeled folders, trays, or filing cabinets to quickly locate jobs and maintain batch control.
- Invest in a dehumidifier or use a climate-controlled storage room to regulate temperature and humidity consistently.
✔️ Final Word
By following these simple storage best practices, you’ll preserve the integrity, vibrancy, and adhesion power of your Pierce Transfers — ensuring every press is clean, crisp, and professional.
